The history of Spiegelburg is based on the activities of the publishing
company Coppenrath, a traditional house which was taken over in 1977 by the
young designer and publisher Wolfgang Hölker. He extended the company into
the most well known children’s books publishing company in Germany.
“I have to be proud of each book I publish“, says Wolfgang Hölker.
This way
children’s books of superior graphic quality are created and they always
comprise something special.
Children’s books characters like Felix, Princess Lillifee and The Friendly
Seven not only make it big in Coppenrath books, but also have their
individual appearance in the Spiegelburg – as a plush toy or in a complex
parlour game, in a variety of stationary and school items, in travel
requisites as well as textiles.
“We create a whole world all around a book”, underlines Wolfgang Hölker, who
continuously initiates new product ranges like new accessories of the Horse
Friends, special adventure equipment with Felix or furniture for children’s
rooms.
He makes dreams come true.
Also with his latest little hero Capt´n Sharky the Coppenrath publishing
company stays on target and captures the hearts of many children.
In July
2006 the storybook “Capt´n Sharky and the secret of treasure island” was
released together with
a few selected Spiegelburg articles, so that little
pirates can go on their own treasure-seeking right away.
